Walter White is the scheming meth king that we have grown to love, and maybe hate a little bit, from the hit TV show Breaking Bad. He is a meek high school science teacher who transforms into a murderous and maniacal drug lord and takes the seedy underbelly of Albuquerque by storm. Whether you’ve watched the show or not, we could all learn a little something from White, specifically how to run a successful empire.
Every White needs a Pinkman – Walter White can’t cook on his own and he owes a lot of his success to his partner, Jesse Pinkman. Pinkman isn’t an intellectual equal to White, nor is he much of a businessman, but Pinkman is a very crucial member of the team. No matter how great you are, you will always need a team or partner to help you reach your potential.
Get the job done – White and Pinkman are great at making a plan and sticking to it. Sometimes wrenches get thrown in, but they always find a way to take back control. Things aren’t supposed to be hurdle-free, you’re supposed to have some obstacles and glitches along the way. It’s how you strategize after the hiccups that will make you successful. Follow White’s lead – when you run out of methylamine, just heist a train and keep on cooking.
Never settle for less – White is adamant that he makes the best product on the market. He doesn’t settle for second best and anything less than perfection will not be tolerated. His customers want the best and he’s the only man that can generate that kind of quality for them. With that in mind, we should all be making sure that we are producing the absolute best quality. When you ensure quality you’ll end up rocketing to the top.
