Entrepreneurial Heroes: Skinny Limits

Local business owners and parents, Cary and Joanie Frieden, have been avid juicers for quite some time. However, like many of us, the expensive price tags on store-bought cleanses were less than attractive. Looking for an alternative solution, they began making juices for their entire family from home, and boy, was the product good. Within days, they began noticing a stark difference in how they felt – so much better they decided to make their homemade juicing a monthly ritual.

Word of their product spread like wildfire, and it wasn’t long before family and friends began asking the Friedens to make juices for them, too. However, the request of their friends revealed a growing national trend to Cary and Joanie – healthy food is inaccessible. Reasonably priced fast food restaurants are located on practically every corner, creating a convenience level that’s hard to ignore. So they thought, how can delicious healthy food options become more accessible?

Enter the Friedens’ company, Skinny Limits. With a mission to bring healthy food options to all, they opened their first store in a retail kiosk space in Austin, and the rest, as they say, is history. The company now sells juices and smoothies at six different locations around Austin, as well as shipping nationally to juice fans around the country.

We can’t help but be inspired by the Friedens’ entrepreneurial spirit. We hope they continue unleashing health potential for a long time to come.
