While getting hit by a dodgeball might sound like an unusual source of inspiration, it certainly worked out well for entrepreneur Jonathan Ages. Despite the pain of the game, Jonathan loved participating in social fitness activities throughout New York City but always had a difficult time finding out about them. It wasn’t until the loss of a dodgeball game when it hit him (literally) – Jonathan wanted to find a way to make it easier for people to live healthy lifestyles while also meeting other New Yorkers. His passion soon became a reality when Blood, Sweat & Cheers was born.

Since 2012, the company has been sending out daily emails to subscribers with information regarding recreational fitness activities happening around the country. From Zombie Runs to Beercycling, Blood, Sweat & Cheers is an awesome way to stay active while having a little fun along the way.  In less than two years, the company reached over 50,000 subscriptions and received press coverage in Bloomberg, SHAPE and Glamour to name a few.

But despite the company’s massive growth, the road to success wasn’t easy. Like many entrepreneurs, Jonathan frequently pulled 16-hour workdays and received thousands of rejections before anyone took interest in the Blood, Sweat & Cheers’ vision. So, how did he stay motivated? Jonathan credits his drive to absolutely loving what he does. His number one tip for fellow entrepreneurs is to care about what you’re doing. If you don’t believe that your dream is meaningful, no one else will either.

The Blood, Sweat & Cheers story serves as an inspiration for entrepreneurs to remain passionate and to never give up on their dreams.
