It’s time for a mid-year inventory. We usually only hear about goals in January, but July is a good time to review all of those goals you set at the beginning of the year and see what is and isn’t working. Remember these blog posts about business goals, personal goals, and financial resolutions we wrote at the beginning of the year?
Take a look at your goals. How many have you achieved so far this year? For the goals you haven’t accomplished, ask yourself:
- Is this still my goal or should I drop it?
- Have I gone into action to achieve this goal or what more can I do?
You don’t need to wait for a new year to set new goals. After reviewing your goal progress and learning from the first half of the year, what new goals could you add to your list? When you set goals, don’t only plan around financial goals. Also set goals about these topics: personal, professional, educational, family, spiritual, and physical.
A last piece of advice: Amat Victoria Curam, which means victory loves careful preparation. You don’t just end up with the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. It takes thought and preparation, i.e. planning, goals, etc. Few people review their goals after the first couple of months or when they are first made, and productive results can accrue for those with a clear vision. Are you keeping track of your goal progress?
