How Bikram Yoga Can Change Your Life

2012 is quickly approaching, and there’s no better time than now to set those resolutions. According to the U.S. Government’s website, getting fit is one of the most popular New Year’s resolution year after year. One life-changing way to achieve that goal is with a 60-day Bikram Yoga Challenge.

Bikram Yoga is a method of yoga synthesized by Bikram Choudhury from traditional yoga techniques. Its main goal is to achieve general good health and well-being. Bikram Yoga classes run exactly 90 minutes, ideally in a heated room of approximately 105 degrees with 40 percent humidity. The class consists of 26 asanas (postures) and two breathing exercises that brilliantly and systematically move fresh, oxygenated blood to restore every area of your body. According to Bikram, the heated studio helps create deeper stretches, prevent injuries and reduce stress.

Each session can burn between 500 to 1250 calories varying from person to person, depending on the intensity of practice among other factors. However, beyond benefits of personal well-being and weight loss, Bikram yoga stimulates and restores health by increasing blood circulation to all organs of the body. Bikram yoga stands as the most popular form of hot yoga.

Once you’ve started the 60-day yoga challenge, you can see your body positively change. You will renovate your systems, tone muscles and achieve proper weight all while gaining a sense of well-being and good health.
