How Clear is Your Message?

I read an interesting article titled “What a 9-Year-Old Can Teach You About Selling.” The article focused on having a clear elevator pitch that is easy to understand and remember. While you may understand the ins and outs of your company and the lingo of your industry, it may be confusing for those on the outside looking in. Do you have a pitch ready for networking events or business meetings? Can you explain what your company does and why someone should hire you in easy-to-understand terms? Many times, the elevator pitch includes the company mission statement and/or core values.

As you prepare your elevator pitch, think about the following questions:

After creating a pitch, be sure to practice it and be able to deliver it with power and passion. Also be sure to update it every few months so it stays fresh.
