How to Help Central Texas Wildfire Victims

Rain-starved Texas suffered catastrophic losses to more than 170 wildfires that broke out throughout the central area almost two weeks ago. Currently, the fires in Bastrop are 75% contained. More than 1,050 homes were reported destroyed and thousands of residents were evacuated. The fires called 1,200 firefighters to service – 8 fire crews, 66 engines, 4 helicopters, 7 water tenders, and 4 dozers. This also includes the elite search team, Texas Task Force 1 and units from California and Oregon. Communities throughout Texas are uniting together to support our neighbors through the tough times. Here are some ways you can help.

American Red Cross of Central Texas is accepting cash donations but not material goods, or if you are a Red Cross trained volunteer, call 512-837-4046 for more information.
